Presenting Outpawed, the charity for the 2017 Petone Winter Markets!
Outpawed is a NZ registered charity, dedicated to the care and management of stray and feral cats in the Wellington region. We provide shelter for feral cats and kittens and aim to spay/neuter, socialise, vaccinate, microchip and find homes for as many of them as possible. We are also involved in trap-neuter-return (TNR) where we trap, desex and return unsocialised cats to their territory, for cats that cannot be integrated into a household environment. Where TNR is necessary, cats are released into managed colonies where they are fed and monitored.
We aim to work with local government and other animal welfare organisations to obtain the best outcome possible for the feral cat population. Our goal is to reduce this population over time through desexing and adoption.
Outpawed is made up of Vikki and Hamish as trustees, and EmJay, Sam and Terre who are also involved with fundraising activities.
We will be running a fundraiser bake sale out of the kitchen at all three events, and we will also be providing the prize for our fundraiser colouring competition in conjunction with Copper Catkin, click here for more details.
Hi, I'm Paula, maker of Muse Jewellery, and I will be at the September market.

Muse Jewellery Design is our in-house jewellery brand crafting Steampunk, vintage and funky style accessories in a unique blend of Italian, Mexican and Kiwi styles. We are lucky to have a team of passionate people working in our company who follow this philosophy. Through this journey we have focused on sustainability and continue to gain coffee knowledge through education and innovation.

She's just hit the grand age of 50 this year so she's been around for a while. Not only does she look fabulous - she also makes awesome coffee!
RELATIONSHIP COFFEE All our coffee can be traced back to each producer, farm or washing station. All our coffee is traded fairly. We choose to work with farmers and brokers that we trust and invite you to share all the information available to us about each origin.
Hello! My name is Elisabeth, and I will be at the August and September markets.
I developed a love of fabric at a young age, and I've never quite stopped playing with it. When we bought our house, it came with a workroom, and suddenly my hobby turned into a business. For the first few years I obsessively acquired fabric to use in my products, but gradually realised that I needed to be using fabrics that no-one else had. So I revived my long abandoned drawing skills, and relaunched my products using my own fabric designs. These days my business is a celebration of the beautiful environment we have here in Aotearoa New Zealand.
I design and make accessories, stationery and homewares. My current range brings our beautiful native birds into reach. Tui, kereru, tauhou, kaka and ruru feature in my own original illustrations, and I've had fabric printed which I then make up into the different products. You'll find wallets and purses perfect for organising your handbag, journals and pencil cases to help organise your thoughts and ideas, and beautiful cushions and lampshades - ok, they won't help you organise anything, but they'll look great in your home! I also have prints and cards featuring my illustrations.
Hi, I'm Michelle, and I will be at the August and September Petone Winter Markets.
I have an online business selling handcrafted homewares, decor and lifestyle products sourced from small artisans in New Zealand and South Africa. I launched my online store on 15 March 2017, so my business is still very new, and I look forward to sharing my products at the markets.
All my products are handcrafted by artisans that I source from and include ceramics, table linen, towels, candles and candle holders, natural soaps, baskets, cushions and bags.

Hi, I'm Jill, and you will find me and my stall at the August and September markets!
Made in a small home studio in Wellington, the Made Up wool wrap jackets can be bought off the rack or made to your specific requirements.
Every woman should have a beautiful piece of clothing that makes them feel good. I'm constantly told how many compliments people get for their jackets, usually when a customer comes back for a jacket in another colour.
In an effort to help battle the disposable fashion culture, I also make toys and ottomans from recycled jeans. The ottomans are filled with fabric scraps from my own work and other local creators. I make:
Allow us to introduce Jann, from Jinglebugs and Make it!
Hi, I'm Jann, and you can find me at the August and September markets.
I discovered felting at a lovely playgroup as a new mum and was immediately hooked. Inspired by nature and my daughter/model/tester, my first little New Zealand bird ornament debuted as the pukeko in a ponga tree at her preschool Christmas party.
I also love sharing the fun of felting with children and have run dozens of workshops around Wellington over the last seven years. I now work with other tutors to offer school holiday craft workshops and Make it yourself! kits.
Jinglebugs are felted wool goodies for children and home: needle-felted New Zealand bird ornaments; nests; hedgehog and ladybird pincushions; brooches; felt envelope and stamp play sets; felt and button hairclips.
Make it! are craft kits for cool kids: rolled candles; felted pictures and geodes; stamps; bunting.

Welcome, Ngaire from Burnt Offerings!
Hi my name is Ngaire, and you will find my Burnt Offerings at all three Petone Winter Markets.
I live in the beautiful Wairarapa, and I have two gorgeous daughters with a wonderful husband and a loving extended family who have always encouraged my passion - art and creating. My canvas is not the usual one - I express myself in wood, glass and stone.
I create unique, practical art pieces for everyday living, by etching glass, mirror, stone and burning onto wood. Most of my items are second-hand finds that I either etch or burn to give them a new lease on life. This also means you won't find them elsewhere - they are unique, one-off pieces.

Meet Monique and her Wheat Bag Buddy :)
Hi. I'm Monique, and you can find me at all three Petone Winter Markets.
Six years ago, I redesigned the wheat bag into the Wheat Bag Buddy.
I have loved wheat bags for years. We all know how great they feel! There was just this one thing about them - you would get them in just the right spot, then you would move, and you had to start again. I thought there had to be a better way. And there is!! Wheat Bag Buddy is so popular that I have had children & adults argue over who is going to use it next. I have friends in homes that love it when they go to sit outside in the cold. Animals love them as well! It has given so many friends & family enjoyment.
All Wheat Bag Buddies are double thickness to help contain the heat, and I like to use new updated theme materials.
I have only just started to sell to the public in the last couple of weeks. Wheat Bag Buddy isn't in shops or on the internet. Come & try your new Buddy out at the Petone Winter Markets!
Please welcome Kylee from The Clean Collective!
Hi there, I'm Kylee from The Clean Collective, and I will be at all three Petone Winter Markets!
I lead a gluten & diary free lifestyle due to intolerances, and I know first-hand how hard it is to find suitable snacks & treats - so I decided to start making my own. About 18 months ago I decided to share my products and knowledge of gf/df foods by starting The Clean Collective.
I make a variety of gluten & diary free treats including bliss balls, flavoured popcorn, flavoured almonds and baked items such as chocolate brownie, banana & coconut mini loaves and granola. I can assure you that although they are gluten & dairy free, all products are very tasty!
Hello, we are a husband and wife team, Tosin and Tammy Samuel, and you can find us at the September market.
Our daughter has been our inspiration to start this beautiful handmade business. We want to instill in our children an early love for books, limit screen time and create many fun-filled learning opportunities, all together. Hence, quiet books! They are series of pages with very engaging and interactive activities that encourage fine motor and cognitive skills, colour and form identification, behaviour and mental logic growth, as well as imagination.
myQuietBooks are designed for children to explore at their own time and pace but when a carer is engaged, it could open up a whole new level of learning opportunity. Through the “Discovery Cards” we share with you what your child may be learning, and suggest some possible “next steps” that you can engage with your child during everyday life, in order to extend and consolidate the learning experience.

Hi, I'm Cathy, and you can find me and my baking stall at the July market.
I called my business 'Flembeau' after a French word which means "A flaming torch, especially made of thick wicks dipped in wax; a candlestick with several branches". I chose the name because the several branches represent my plan to one day have cake shops in multiple locations.

Hi I'm Sandra, owner and designer for Eildon Rocks Jewellery. I will be at all three Petone Winter Markets.
I've always had a love for natural gemstones, intrigued by their history and the variety of colours, texture and patterns created by nature over time. I created Eildon Rocks about 5 years ago when I realised that I could make these beautiful stones part of every day life. All my pieces are unique, as often I let the stones take on a life of their own. Quite often the pieces I make end up very different to what I had in mind. Come and see for yourself!
Eildon Rocks creates and sells handmade gemstone jewellery. All pieces are unique, showcasing nature's beauty. We also do commissions and are always interested in creating something special to meet our customers' needs.

I'm a graphic designer by day – graphic artist by night. I LOVE all things connected with paper, and being able to illustrate and design my own range of paper goods – is just the best! I work and live in the coolest little capital in the world – Wellington, New Zealand with my lovely husband and cheerleader Graham, and my furry assistant, Scrappy the dog.
New Zealand's unique native flora and fauna has always been a great source of inspiration for my illustrations and designs. I usually work in sets of 6 or 12 designs per series, that is then made into a range of posters, cards, calendars, colouring books and flash cards. I'm always looking to add new and fresh ideas to the range. I started Doodlebum as a hobby business after my daughter was born, but in 2016 I managed to take it to that next level and run it full time! Introducing Leah from Ickle Tings and Tinga-Me-Bobs!
Hi, I'm Leah and you can find me and my stall at the August and September markets.
As a mum of 2, I left the full time world and pursued my passion to make things. As my kids have grown, my product range has evolved. I handmake cotton toys for babies and beyond; I've introduced hobby horses (and unicorns and dinosaurs), tooth fairy bags and super heroes. I've also developed a 'spin off' product line with tinga-me-bobs. I make kickmats (car seat protectors) and book bags from sturdy oilcloth. I frequent various markets over the year and I supply a couple of retailers.
I make baby toys made from high quality cotton - their point of difference is the crinkle in their ears! Wabbits, meece and pusscats in a wide range of fabrics including some exclusive designs. Toys without noise - superwabbits, hobby horses, hobby unicorns and stick-o-saurus; Tooth fairy bags and receipts designed by a local illustrator; Kickmats/car seat protectors to save seats from muddy feet - all oilcloth; Bookbags in durable oilcloth.

Hi, I'm Vicki, and I love to make things! You will find me and my stall at all three Petone Winter Markets.
At the moment, my passion is knitting! Somehow I have acquired quite a stash of gorgeous fibres, including super snugly merino wool and even a merino/possum blend. With a little patience something special emerges! I make beautiful bootees and hats for beautiful babies, plus a few other funky fashionables!
As the organiser of the events, you will find me, my husband George, and my stall at all three Petone Winter Markets.
My passion is primarily for drawing - but I need art to be functional, so I justify my drawings by turning them into something tangible. I make earrings, pendants, bracelets, cufflinks, and other jewellery, sealing my artwork under glass. I also have my designs custom-printed onto fabrics, which I then turn into fun accessories, and I am hoping to have even more cool new creations to share with you by July.
As well as creating quirky artworks, I also help stallholders to up their display game as Copper Catkin Consulting. I will be offering Coaching-at-market as part of organising the Petone Winter Markets.
